Couples Therapy Maleny
Are you feeling stuck in your relationship? Has communication broken down, disagreements seem endless, or perhaps not enough is being said and things have gone quiet between you?
It is through relationship that we come to know not only another person, but also ourselves. Relationships can bring closeness, comfort and connection, while also exposing vulnerability, hurt, difference and unmet needs. This can feel confronting, uncomfortable and at times deeply painful. As relationships grow and life circumstances change, it becomes increasingly important to remain in contact with one another. Misunderstandings, unresolved grievances, stress, parenting, health difficulties and life transitions can gradually create distance and disconnection within a relationship.
If you feel as though the threads that once held you together are beginning to loosen, couples counselling and psychotherapy can provide a supportive space to pause, reflect and reconnect. Relationship counselling offers an opportunity to explore the patterns, dynamics and ways of relating that may no longer be supporting your connection.
Relational Gestalt therapy for couples focuses on increasing awareness within the relationship. Rather than placing blame, Gestalt psychotherapy supports couples to become more aware of how they communicate, withdraw, pursue, protect themselves and respond to one another in the present moment. Through greater awareness, honesty and emotional contact, new possibilities for connection, understanding and repair can emerge.
Couples counselling can support partners navigating communication difficulties, emotional disconnection, conflict, intimacy concerns, trust issues, grief, parenting challenges and significant life transitions. The therapeutic process invites each person to explore their own experience while learning to remain present and engaged with the other.
How I Will Support You
In our couples counselling sessions, we will explore the patterns and dynamics that may be impacting your relationship. Together we will work to strengthen communication, increase awareness, deepen emotional connection and create space for each partner’s experience to be heard and understood.
Couples counselling may support:
communication difficulties
conflict and recurring arguments
emotional disconnection
intimacy and trust concerns
parenting challenges
grief and loss
life transitions and stress
feelings of resentment, withdrawal or loneliness within the relationship
Sessions are grounded in a relational and Gestalt psychotherapy approach, offering a supportive space for reflection, honesty and reconnection.
